Trans-European transport Network (TEN-T)
The EU aims to develop a trans-European transport infrastructure network as a key element for the creation of the internal market and the reinforcement of passengers’ and freight mobility across the EU. This development includes the interconnection of national transport networks, as well as access to these networks.

Project criteria and co-financing
The TEN-T guidelines set out criteria for the identification of projects of common interest and contain a list of priority projects. The list includes two waterway priority projects: Seine-Scheldt
 Rhine/Meuse-Main-Danube

A financial regulation sets out the conditions and rates for EU co-financing of projects and studies.
